Being interviewed by recruiters can be a daunting task as knowing what they want can be tricky due to the unspoken rule of recruiting to never criticise or scrutinize.
So to help with this we have listed below a few things recruiters want, but will never tell you so.
1. Time Is Of The Essence
In the line of recruitment the person who responds first generally gets preference for the first interview. Although your skills and experience may be impressive, being late never is. Always try and be 15 minutes early to an interview as first impressions definitely do count.
2. Be Confident, But Not Overly Confident
There is a thin line between the two and some get confused and may rub up the wrong way with the person who holds the key to your next job opportunity.
3. Ask Questions
A good listener will always know just when to speak. Show off your impressive listening skills by asking the interviewer questions too. You would be amazed to see how this eases the tension in the room by getting to know the interviewer or recruiter on a more personal level.
4. Be Aware Of Your Non-Verbal Communication
Even when you say not a single word, your gestures, posture, clothing, and facial expressions could tell someone an awful lot.
5. Be Sure To Do Your Research
Doing so will show the company that just might hire you that you would be the type of employee that is willing to do more than what is required of you. It shows off your good work ethic and demonstrates your passion and dedication to what you love to do.
6. Honesty Is The Best Policy
Always try to answer all the questions as honestly as you can. The truth always has a way of coming out, so best that it comes from you instead of the research done on you.
